Life - Parents are Very Important

Posted by [email protected] on September 3, 2015 at 12:40 AM

Having your parents in your life is a good thing. It's a great thing actually. As a child growing up, i have had fun times with my family. It was just me, my mom, my dad and my younger brother. Mom worked really hard as a secretary and my dad worked really hard as a construction worker.

Being the first child for my parents was hard on me as well as my parents. I was only a featus when they got married, so finiancial struggles existed, even though the economy was not as bad as it is now. As a result of this, both parents had to work to ensure their children were clothed and well fed. With both parents working, I mostly spent time with my aunts and uncles. It was fun even when my little brother came into the picture, because now i had someone to play with and relieve me of my lonely company.

When a child gets used to having a family around them to comfort, provide for, and cherish them, it actually makes the child feel more secure and stable. As a result of this, the absence of effective parenting and the presence of both parents in the life of a child will take a toll on the child.

My parents devorced when i was about 13 years old going into my second year of High School. Before the separation, they used to argue a lot and sometimes get physical. I can recall a time they had an argument, i was crying a lot, so i went to mom in the midst of the quarrel. Upon approaching my mother, i felt a stern grip on my arm followed by a hit in the mouth. I had to fold my lips to go to school because it was swollen. Now, I cannot express how i really felt, but my psychological reasoning was affected and i sunk into a state of depression. Leading up to the seperation of my parents, we (my brother and I) had to move from place to place with mom. After a while, My brother and I started living separately and I, for the most part had to struggle through High School and ensure my education.

Parents must be careful how your relationship is handle within the immediate family, especially in moments of heated arguments with your children present. The effects this may have on the child, depending on paren-child relations can have a long-lasting impression.

In conclussion, Parents play a very important role in the life of their child. And children play a very important role in their parents' lives. I respect my parents, despite the rocky roads we had to trod. #RealMedz #ShaynPrince
